SIDNEY JOHNSON, 57, retired Major for
the Memphis Police Department, a Northside graduate, and an Air Force
veteran, of Memphis, died February 11, 2008 at Methodist North Hospital.
He leaves his wife, RoJenia
Johnson; two daughters, Shontea Shepard (Carter) of Memphis and Dartarnia
Howard (Tommy) of Greenbay, WI; one son, Sidney Johnson, Jr. of Los
Angeles, CA; one brother, Jimmie Johnson of Memphis; eight grandchildren;
one great-grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other
relatives and friends.

Ulysses Jones Jr., 59, of Memphis, passed away on November 9, 2010 at Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital of complications from pneumonia. Services were held on Monday, November 15, at Hope Presbyterian Church, 8500 Walnut Grove Rd., Cordova, TN. Interment was at Memorial Park Cemetery following the Services. Hardeman County Funeral Service 731-658-7473. Jones was first elected to the state House in 1987 to represent District 98, which includes North Memphis, Raleigh and Frayser, and was unopposed in his re-election Nov. 2. The father of two and a graduate of Northside High School who attended the University of Memphis and Tennessee State University, Jones was also the first vice president of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators.
THELMA JEAN MARABLE, 56, gave up her spirit and left this life on Sunday, January 6, 2008. She was the eldest of six children and accepted Christ at an early age. She was born December 26, 1951 in Memphis to the late Annie Bell Marable-Taylor and the late Dan Christian. She leaves to cherish her memory: one daughter, Sheryl Marable; two sons, Gregory and Daryl Marable; two sisters, Ann Webb (Albert) and Antoinette Taylor-Johnson; three brothers, Richard Marable, Thomas Taylor, and Anthony Taylor, all of Memphis, Tennessee; one aunt, Lorine McKinney of Whiteville, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Steven, James, Jennifer, Tosheuna, and Dariontae Marable, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

JERRY L. TUCKER, 57, of Memphis, TN, U.S. Air Force Veteran, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 3, 2008 at his home. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran (8 years), served 21 years as a Federal U.S. Government Military employee in Indianapolis, IN. He was preceded in death by his mother, Parthernia Tucker and sister, Jeanette Tucker. He leaves to mourn four sisters, Patricia Tucker of Naperville, IL, Geneva Murphy (James), Cynthia Lenson (Jimmy) and Nora Huggins, all of Memphis; three brothers, Jerome Tucker (Peggy) and Rick Tucker, both of Memphis and Jimmy Huggins of Alabama; his father, Jerome Tucker Sr., and a host of relatives and friends.

LINDA KILGORE-WILLIAMSON-PARKINSON, departed
from this earth on June 6, 2003.
She is survived by her husband, Rudy Parkinson, her children, Nevada
Williamson, Keta Glover and, Lorenzo Williamson, her parents, Leonard
and Josie Kilgore, her brother, Bobby Joe, and her sisters, Mildred,
Peggy, Madolyn and Gena. Family was Linda's first priority in life.
She continually gave of herself, for the good of her family.

JOHN
HENRY WALLACE, JR. departed this world, Sunday, July 15, 2001. He
was born May 27, 1951 to the late Maggie Mae and John Henry Wallace,
Sr. He attended Northside High School and State Technical Institute
in Memphis, Tennessee. He later served in the United States Army.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Claudine Bobo, and to this union
came two sons, John Michael and Corey Jerome. John loved his family
and friends unselfishly and those who were blessed to know him will
never forget him.
His memories are cherished by three sons John Michael, Corey Jerome,
and Patrick, all of Memphis, Tennessee; three sisters, Bobbie James,
Vickie and Sandra (Marvell) Brown; two brothers, James (Linda Jean)
and Ovell (Debra); a host of nieces, nephews, many friends; a special
friend, Ms. Rhonda Young.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Maggie Mae and
John Henry; one sister, Gloria Ann; and one son Darryl.

husband of Sylvia Christopher Bonds, also leaves a daughter, Christina
Antoinette Bonds, and a son, Christopher Jarrett Bonds, both of Houston;
his mother, Bobbie Marshall of Memphis, and five sisters, Antoinette

ROSS departed this world, Thursday, January 2, 2003 and leaves to
mourn his passing, his parents, Charlie and Della Ross, two sisters,
Deborah Conway, Alyce Lovell (Kenneth), one brother, Tyrone Ross
(Benita) all of Memphis.
Daniel Ross was in Memphis for Christmas vacation before
falling victim to an apparent carjacking and murder. Daniel made
a name for himself as an accomplished chemist within the cosmetics
industry. He held the position of senior chemist at Maybelline/Loreal.
Daniel relocated to Woodbridge, New Jersey 6 years ago when Maybelline

ANTHONY RODREKUS BLEDSOE, 49, died October 1, 2009. Funeral Services were held October 9, 2009 at Greater Lewis Street Missionary Baptist Church, 152 E. Parkway North.
Anthony R. Bledsoe was born September 21, 1960, in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Leroy Taylor and the late Katie Bledsoe. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Mzee Ajanaku.
He accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age at Greater Lewis Street M.B. Church under the leadership of Rev. W. P. Dixon. He departed this life on October 1, 2009.
He attended Northside High School, and he was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He worked as a chef at M.I.F.A. as well as other food establishments.
He leaves to mourn his memory four sisters, Shirley (Sterling) Reed; Pamela (Dale) Clark; Evelyn Wright and Carolyn Bledsoe; one brother, Rodney Bledsoe; one aunt, Floyd Dixon; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Northside band president died Monday, April 4, 2005. He is
survived by his wife Phyllis K. Miller, one son Al Nathan Miller,
Jr.; one daughter Alicia Maree Miller; three sisters, Vercatha A.
Ford (Raymond), Karlisha L. Benymon (Eric), and Tamra Sain (James);
two aunts, Katherine A. Barginere and Veronica Mitchell; and one
uncle, Ronald Miller. Al also has nieces and nephews, who lovingly
called him "Uncle Al", and many cousins. He was also a
father figure to Brian Portwood and Eddie Moore.

YOLANDA M. CATRON-RASH, 44, of Memphis, died Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. She professed her faith in Christ at an early age. She was a paralegal for most of her life. She also worked ten years as a Deputer Jailer at 201 Poplar, and earned the opportunity to work at The Cochran Firm. She became an ordained minister and later became a co-paster at Temple of Holiness Outreach Ministry, where she was a founding minister. She and husband (Marcus Rash, married 15 years) started Temple of Holiness Outreach Ministry in 2000. there she preached, prayed, ministered, and blessed many families, children, men, and women and led many to Christ.
Yolanda leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Hattie Catron, her husband, Marcus Rash; two brothers, Anthony Hinton and Terrance Catron; one sister, Nora Catron; two children, Daryl Stinson and Yourie Wright; one son-in-law, Terrance Wright, Sr.; three grandchildren, Logan Griffin, Terrane Wright, Jr., and Tamia Wright; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.

KEVIN LAMONT RUFUS, 42, of Memphis, passed away peacefully at home May 14, 2009. He was a graduate of Northside High School and attended the University of Tennessee at Martin. He was a resident of Atlanta, Georgia for a number of years. He was preceded in death by one brother, Eric Dwayne Rufus. He is survived by his mother, Tinnie J. In October of 1984, Henry Tucker joined the Army. On April 8, 1985,
he was joined in holy matrimony to Edwina Gale Wiley in Ft. Sill,
Oklahoma. As a career serviceman, Sgt. Tucker earned his BS Degree
and was currently seeking to pursue a degree in Law. As he continued
to play basketball with his unit, he earned many trophies for his
skill.

JOHN ALTON CORNELIUS, 40, died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 with his mother at his side. John attended the University of Tennessee at Martin and LeMoyne Owen College. He was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Chi Psi Chapter. His gift of performing was shared with many on stages such as the Apollo Theatre in New York City. Johnny debuted in the movie, “This Is Elvis” and was a radio personality “Jammin JC” on 91.7 WUMR.
